Mount Vernon Presbyterian guard Autumn Burnette scored 43 points with 14 rebounds and seven steals in a 69-43 victory over Galloway last week, but there was nothing extraordinary about it for the 5-foot-10 junior.

Burnette scored 45 earlier this season against Riverwood, and she pulled 22 rebounds against Excel Christian.

Burnette’s Class A team is only 10-8, but that’s much better than the 2-20 finish of a year ago. Burnette averages 27.4 points (more than half of her team's average of 46) and 12.8 rebounds for a team trying to make the state playoffs for the first time since 1991.

Burnette also was the Area 4-A player of the year in volleyball. She is the daughter of head coach Sharone Burnette, a former basketball player at the University of Houston, and former NFL player Reggie Burnette.

Here are some other top individual performances in Georiga high school basketball from the past week.
