Records, rankings: Clinch County is 3-0 overall, 0-0 in Region 2-A and No. 10; Irwin County is 1-1-1, 0-0 and No. 6.

Last meeting: Irwin County won 47-7 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. These are two of three Top 10 teams out of Region 2-A. The other is No. 7 Charlton County. This is a series that dates to 1952. Irwin leads 19-18-1. The 2014 result was Clinch County's worst loss to a same-classification opponent since 1977. Irwin had 344 yards rushing on just 26 carries. 2. Irwin County has the same 1-1-1 record it had in 2014 when the Indians reached the Class A public-school final. Their loss (Fitzgerald) and tie (Early County) are to AA schools. Preseason all-state FB/LB D.J. Pollard has rushed for 398 yards and five touchdowns and made 21 tackles on defense. 3. Clinch County RB Shannon Young, who rushed for more than 1,200 yards last season, had only two carries in his first two games this season because of a high ankle sprain, but he broke out for 211 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries last week in a 55-21 victory over Berrien. Clinch was outgained 502-426 but forced five turnovers. DE Chauncey Manac (committed to Georgia) returned one 33 yards for a touchdown and had 12 tackles.

Coffee at Glynn Academy

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Glynn County Stadium, Brunswick

Records, rankings: Coffee is 2-1 overall, 0-1 in Region 3-AAAAAA and No. 9; Glynn Academy is 2-1, 1-0 and No. 10.

Last meeting: Coffee won 28-7 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Coffee is primarily a running team, averaging 261.3 yards per game on the ground and 83.7 yards passing. The leading rusher is junior Demetrius Davis, who has 320 yards on 28 carries (11.4 yards per carry) and has scored six touchdowns. Y'darius Baker (28 carries, 157 yards) and Greg Williams (14-134) both have games of at least 76 yards. 2. Glynn Academy QB Justin Larson is 32-for-55 passing for 474 yards and four touchdowns. Senior RB Garrison Hurd gets about half the carries in the running game and has 162 yards and four TDs on 43 attempts. Glynn Academy averages 159.3 yards passing and 102 rushing. 3. In the 2014 game, Coffee took control with touchdowns on its first four possessions and outgained Glynn Academy 439-292 for the game. Davis rushed for 102 yards on 19 carries for Coffee, and Hurd had 78 yards on 11 carries and scored the Red Terrors' only touchdown.

Creekside at Stephenson

When, where: 8 p.m. Friday, James R. Hallford Stadium, Clarkston

Records, rankings: Creekside is 4-0 and No. 7 in Class AAAAA; Stephenson is 2-1 and unranked in AAAAA.

Last meeting: Creekside won 34-27 in the 2014 Region 6-AAAAA championship game.

Three things to know: 1. Creekside beat Stephenson twice last season. The first was 28-14 in the regular season. Stephenson led 14-7 with a first-and-goal but failed to score, and Creekside drove 98 yards to change the game. The second meeting was for the region title. 2. Jaylen Marson-Knight rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns in Stephenson's 47-0 victory over Banneker last week. He has rushed for 365 yards in three games. Stephenson has used two quarterbacks, senior Richard Gray (148 yards passing) and Xavier Sheppard (141). DE Michael Pitts (3-star recruit) has five sacks and five QB hurries. 3. Creekside is averaging 44 points per game. QB Felix Harper (committed to Army) is a three-year starter who led the Seminoles to a state title in 2013. He's passed for 1,014 yards and 12 touchdowns. Sabree Curtis rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-6 victory over Druid Hills last week and also is a dangerous kickoff returner. OL Aaron Dowdell is committed to Georgia.

Eastside at Jonesboro

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Twelve Oaks Stadium, Hampton

Records, rankings: Eastside is 3-0 and No. 8 in Class AAAA; Jonesboro is 3-1 and unranked in AAAA.

Last meeting: Jonesboro won 27-21 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Eastside is 3-0 for the first time since 2008, when if finished 11-2 and reached the Class AAA quarterfinals. Troy Hoff is in his first season as the Eagles' head coach after being promoted to replace Rick Hurst, who took the Pepperell job. The offensive leader is junior QB Austin Holloway, who is 45-of-58 passing for 671 yards with nine touchdowns. 2. Jonesboro, which started 0-3 in 2014, was 3-0 this season until losing to Eagle's Landing 17-7 last season. QB Zerrick Cooper (committed to Clemson) was 47-for-71 passing for 551 yards and six TDs during the three-game winning streak, but the Cardinals were limited to one score (a 5-yard run by Asael Castaneda) in the loss. 3. In the 2014 game, Eastside led 13-0 at halftime and took a 21-14 lead with 2:54 remaining in the fourth quarter but could not hold on and eventually lost in overtime. The Eagles had the ball first in overtime but fumbled on their overtime possession. Jonesboro's James Walker Jr., an all-state basketball player, then caught the winning touchdown pass.

Grayson at Parkview

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Big Orange Jungle, Lilburn

Records, rankings: Grayson is 3-0 overall, 1-0 in Region 8-AAAAAA and No. 2; Parkview is 3-0, 1-0 and unranked.

Last meeting: Grayson won 13-7 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. These are the only unbeaten teams in Region 8-AAAAAA, although Dacula and Central Gwinnett (both 2-1) also are 1-0 in the region. In the 2014 game, Grayson's defense had six sacks and allowed points only after Grayson fumbled at its 3-yard line. Grayson QB Chase Brice, who returns, was 15-of-27 passing for 234 yards and a touchdown. 2. Brice is 47-for-75 passing for 663 yards and five touchdowns this season. Cameryn Brent has rushed for 302 yards and six touchdowns. Grayson has three Division I prospects on defense - DE Bryce Morais (Boston College), DT Chris Martin (Georgia Tech) and DE Mykelle McDaniel (3-star) - but the standout in the 26-24 victory over No. 1 Archer last week was MLB Bryce Smith, who had 11 solo tackles, four for losses, and two sacks. DB Adesola Abisoya was impressive in covering Archer all-state WR Kyle Davis. 3. Parkview's Jack Chambers passed for 404 yards in a 48-9 victory over Brookwood last week. He has 727 yards passing and five touchdowns and has rushed for 282 yards. WR Johnathan Boyd (Georgia State, Mercer) has 14 catches for 260 yards. DE Stephen Moye, who is committed to Virginia, is Parkview's defensive leader. He has 20 tackles, two for losses.

Jones County at Northside (Warner Robins)

When, where: 7 p.m. Thursday, McConnell-Talbert Stadium, Warner Robins

Records, rankings: Jones County is 3-0 overall, 2-0 in Region 2-AAAAA and No. 4; Northside is 3-0, 2-0 and No. 1.

Last meeting: Jones County won 45-37 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. This is one of two games this week matching the four remaining unbeaten teams in Region 2-AAAAA. The other is Warner Robins vs. Houston County (see below). Jones County's victory against the Eagles last season was its first in the six-game history of the series and gave Northside its only loss in a state championship season. 2. Jones County has a pass-oriented offense that hasn't needed to throw much in its three lopsided victories. QB Bradley Hunnicutt is 29-for-45 passing for 475 yards with seven touchdowns and no interceptions. He threw for 353 yards and two TDs against Northside last year. RB Chandler Ramage has rushed for 306 yards and three TDs on 37 carries. 3. Northside gets about two-thirds of its offense from a running game that is led by Desean Dinkins, who has 326 yards and seven touchdowns on 60 carries. QB Tobias Oliver has rushed for 267 yards and three TDs on 51 carries, and is 26-for-50 passing for 425 yards with four TDs and two interceptions. The Eagles average 302.7 yards rushing.

Macon County at Fitzgerald

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jaycee Stadium, Fitzgerald

Records, rankings: Macon County is 2-1 and No. 10 in Class AA; Fitzgerald is 3-0 and No. 2 in AA.

Last meeting: Fitzgerald won 41-34 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Macon County junior QB Khari Lane is 44-for-80 passing for 864 yards and 12 touchdowns and had a season-high 377 yards last week, but the Bulldogs were held to 26 yards rushing on 15 carries in a 34-33 loss to Perry. Sophomore RB Akeevious McLendon has 202 of the team's 378 rushing yards on 19 carries. 2. Fitzgerald is averaging 465.3 yards rushing per game and is on track to have two players easily surpass the 1,000-yard mark. Junior FB J.D. King has rushed for 631 yards on 63 carries (10.0 yards per carry) and scored seven touchdowns. QB James Graham, who averages less than seven pass attempts per game, has rushed for 490 yards and seven TDs on 51 carries (9.6 ypc). 3. In last year's game, Fitzgerald never led by more than seven points but got the final touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 26-yard run by QB Gerald Morgan and held on for the win. Morgan, a first-team all-state selection as an athlete, finished with 222 yards rushing and five touchdowns on 32 carries. He signed with Appalachian State.

Newton at Lowndes

When, where: 8 p.m. Friday, Martin Stadium, Valdosta

Records, rankings: Newton is 4-0 and unranked in Class AAAAAA; Lowndes is 3-1 and unranked in AAAAAA.

Last meeting: Lowndes won 17-13 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Newton and Lowndes have played two suspenseful games the past two seasons at Martin Stadium. Newton won 15-14 in 2013 when Romario Johnson, then a sophomore, threw an 18-yard TD pass to Davonta Jones as time expired. Lowndes won in 2014 when Johnson passed for 232 yards but was sacked seven times. 2. Lowndes has its most balanced offense under coach Randy McPherson with 152.0 yards rushing per game and 132.0 passing. QB Austin Dixon is the leading rusher (161 yards) and is 45-of-61 passing for 489 yards and nine touchdowns. DB Tyson Harris is the team's leading tackler. He also has two blocked kicks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. 3. Newton's Johnson, listed among GHSF Daily's best 10 quarterbacks in preseason, remains one of the state's more underrated players. He's 45-of-67 passing for 762 yards and nine touchdowns. He has rushed for 220 yards on just 25 carries. Junior RB Kurt Taylor (409 yards) is the leading rusher. Tony Collins II has eight tackles for losses. Junior LB Jaquan Henderson (3-star recruit) is the leading tackler.

Thomas County Central at Bainbridge

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Centennial Field, Bainbridge

Records, rankings: Thomas County Central is 2-1 and unranked in Class AAAA; Bainbridge is 3-0 and No. 7 in AAAA.

Last meeting: Bainbridge won 14-9 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Thomas Central beat Bainbridge 20-10 in the 2014 regular season but lost in the region play-in game on Nov. 7 that kept the Yellow Jackets out of the state playoffs for the first time in 24 yards. Bainbridge RB Dameon Pierce, who returns, rushed for 140 yards on 26 carries. 2. Bainbridge has passed for 236.3 yards per game and run for only 104.7 yards, which is untraditional. QB Brett McLaughlin (49-of-78, 690 yards, six TDs) and WR Tyler Storey (24 receptions, 405 yards) have set single-game school records. Pierce (295) has almost all of Bainbridge's rushing yards. LB Kerenski Williams and LB Jordan Martin have 11 tackles for losses between them. 3. Thomas Central's split-back veer offense was born to run. The Jackets average 351 yards rushing, 58 passing. The top three rushers are RB Tyrice Cloud (392 yards, six TDs), QB Kelias Williams (388-4) and RB Nick Patterson (265-4). MLB Dominic Anderson is the leading tackler (30 stops) for a defense that has struggled.

Warner Robins at Houston County

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, McConnell-Talbert Stadium, Warner Robins

Records, rankings: Warner Robins is 3-0 overall, 2-0 in Region 2-AAAAA and unranked; Houston County is 3-0, 2-0 and No. 2.

Last meeting: Houston County won 62-30 in 2014.

Three things to know: 1. Houston County QB Jake Fromm was named the Class AAAAA Offensive Player of the Year by the Georgia Sports Writers Association as a sophomore in 2014 after passing for 3,629 yards and 31 touchdowns. He is 48-of-81 for 835 yards and seven TDs this season in three lopsided victories, allowing the running game to contribute 151.3 yards per game. 2. Warner Robins RB Javian Bradford-Jackson has rushed for 455 yards and five touchdowns on 63 carries for a team that averages more than 50 rushing attempts and only 10.3 passes per game. The Demons have outgained their opponents 1,156-645 in three games. 3. In the 2014 game, Houston County led 21-16 at halftime but scored on all of its second-half possessions to break open the game and secure its first two-game winning streak in the history of the series. "I thought we made some good adjustments at halftime, but we never, never, ever slowed them down when they had the ball," Warner Robins coach Bryan Way told the Macon Telegraph after the game.
