Host Thomson dominated in all three phases of the game and clinched the Region 3-AAAA title while keeping its perfect season (9-0) alive with a 20-7 win. Running back Mike Thomas gave Thomson a 7-0 lead with a 9-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter. Burke County answered with its only points of the game on a Damari Kelly 1-yard touchdown to tie it at 7-7. Thomson regained the lead and then extended it to 13-7 with two Dakota Gergen field goals. The second field goal was set up after Burke County intercepted Thomson and then turned it over on downs. Christian Tutt put the game out of reach with a 58-yard punt return touchdown and closed the door with an interception to seal the win. Thomas finished with his 9-yard touchdown run and led Thomson with 131 of its 171 yards from scrimmage in the first half.
