Pierson Allison of Union County and Parker Self of South Paulding - two seniors whose numbers should start garnering the Division I attention that has eluded them - used record-setting games last week to move to the top of GHSF Daily's statewide passing and receiving yardage leaderboard.
Allison threw for 426 yards, surpassing 400 for the second consecutive week, and a career-high six touchdowns in a 74-57 victory over Putnam County.
Allison has passed for 1,553 yards with 18 touchdowns and no interceptions this season while completing 68.6 percent of his throws. He has passed for 4,689 yards and 46 touchdowns in his career.
Self had 12 receptions for 235 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-0 victory over Northgate. The 235 yards weren't his personal best. He had 237 against North Paulding in the opener. But the three TD receptions were a personal record. Self has seven TD catches this season.
Like Allison, Self had a big season in 2018, too. He had 79 receptions for 904 yards for a 2-8 team and made first-team all-region. This year's Spartans are 4-1. Self has 716 yards receiving.
