Looks like Stockbridge isn’t ready to relinquish its throne in Henry County.

The No. 2-ranked Tigers turned away a challenge from No. 10 Woodland on Friday with a 26-10 win in the first-ever meeting between two ranked teams from Henry County’s public schools.

The Stockbridge (6-0, 4-0 in Region 4) offense was led by Jalen Holston, who rushed for 207 yards and scored on a 5-yard run.

Jordan Brown added a 65yard run  and Kendereick Duncan scored on a 3-yard run.

The other score came when Brenton Cox, who had four sacks, recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Woodland (5-2, 4-1) quarterback Reid Larsen threw for 240 yards to lead the offense. The Wolfpack scored on a fumble recovery and Shakur Brown intercepted a pass.

Ola's Rodriguez scores six TDs: Junior Chris Rodriguez scored six touchdowns and helped Ola outlast Eagle's Landing 51-50. Rodriguez scored on runs of 12, 22, 6, 14, 56 and 5 yards to help the Mustangs (3-3, 2-2 Region 5) break a three-game losing streak and remain alive in the playoff race.

Ola also scored on a 49-yard pass from Bryce Lawrence to Tyler Jedding.

Eagle’s Landing quarterback Cameron Lewis threw for three touchdowns and ran for another. Dunavon Lunsford ran for a touchdown and scored on a 95-yard kickoff return. The Eagles trailed 51-30 to start the fourth quarter, but scored with a 2:55 left and opted for a winning two-point conversion, which failed.

TCC back in saddle: After losing two straight to schools in large classifications, No. 8 Thomas County Central got back in the win column with a 33-22 win over Warner Robins in the Region 1 opener for both schools. Quarterback Kelias Williams threw for 172 yard and a touchdown for the Yellow Jackets (5-2), who scored two defensive touchdowns in the first half.

No. 4 Rome rolls: Rome had nearly 500 yards in total offense and limited Hiram to 11 in a 47-0 win. Jailynn Sykes rushed 13 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns and Knox Kadum was 11-for-15 passing for 118 yards and one touchdown. On defense, Rome's Adam Anderson had two sacks and a fumble return for a touchdown and Jaylen Griffin had an interception.

Ogle's heroics save Whitewater: Eric Ogle returned a fumble for a touchdown in the final seconds to help Whitewater stun Starr's Mill 45-37. Whitewater (5-2, 2-1) gained a measure of revenge from last year's 21-7 loss and jumped into the playoff picture in Region 3. Starr's Mill (3-4, 2-1) gave back the ground it made up the previous week when it upset then-No. 5 Griffin.

Locust Grove keeps pace: Caleb Huntley scored two of his three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help the Wildcats beat Dutchtown and stay alive in the Region 4 picture.

Weather alters schedule: Hurricane Matthew caused three postponements in Class AAAAA, all affecting Region 2. Statesboro will play at New Hampstead on Monday at 6 p.m. The South Effingham game at Wayne County, which was originally rescheduled for Thursday, was moved to Monday at 6 p.m. The Ware County game against Tarpon Springs, Fla., was cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
