None stands 6 feet tall, and the average height of these 10 running backs is 5-8½. And that's assuming their reported sizes are nott inflated. They range from 5-foot-3 Zay Malcome of Westminster to 5-11 Andrew Lee of Charlton County.
Picked primarily for their high school production and not necessarily their status as college recruits, the 10 Georgia running backs rushed for 16,909 yards last season - or nearly 10 miles.
That doesn't necessarily translate into their being major college prospects. Some of them are. But most are looking for bigger offers.
''It's a very hard and very sobering feeling when you have all the stats in the world, but you are not getting offers,'' said Rusty Mansell of 247Sports. ''Size just seems to be playing more of a roll in today's game. ... But go ask their head coaches how valuable they are to their teams. The best compliment is that opposing teams have to build their gameplans strictly to stop them. These guys are what make their teams go.''
