Walton traditionally is a running team, but second-year coach Mo Dixon is bringing change to the Raiders. Junior quarterback Addison Shoup took the lead in passing yards statewide last week after throwing for 329 in a 42-9 victory over Milton.

Shoup, the newest member of the POY Watch, has plenty of weapons around him. Dominick Blaylock, a freshman, has 37 catches for 713 yards. All-state tight end Sam Letton has 37 receptions for 640 yards. Walton hasn't abandoned the run, however. K.K. Brooks is on pace for a 1,000-yard season. He has 843 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. Walton is 8-1.

The POY Watch remained stable, as it has most of the season.

1. DT Derrick Brown, Lanier:Brown had eight tackles, three for losses, one sack and two QB hurries in a 31-0 victory over Salem. In eight games, Brown has 67 total tackles, 29 for losses, eight sacks, 22 QB hurries, nine pass deflections, one interception returned 30 yards for a touchdown, one blocked punt and two recovered fumbles for the No. 4 team in Class AAAAA. Brown, who is uncommitted, is the consensus No. 8 recruit in the country.

2. RB/DB Taylor Trammell, Mount Paran Christian: Trammell rushed for 148 yards and his team's only touchdown on 23 carries in a 7-6 victory over Trion. For the season, Trammell has rushed for a Georgia-leading 1,728 yards on 173 carries (10.0 ypc), scored 26 touchdowns and intercepted two passes. Mount Paran (8-0) is ranked No. 1 in Class A. Trammell is committed to Georgia Tech as a baseball player.

3. QB Trevor Lawrence, Cartersville:Lawrence was 6-of-8 passing for 161 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-3 victory over Southeast Whitfield. For the season, Lawrence is 124-of-188 (.660) for 1,983 yards and 26 touchdowns with three interceptions for an 8-0 team that is ranked No. 1 in Class AAAA. He has thrown four touchdowns or more in five games this season. Lawrence is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the country among sophomores. He is uncommitted.

4. QB Chase Parrish, Colquitt County:Parrish's team did not play last week. For the season, Parrish is 109-of-153 passing (.712) for 1,675 yards and 21 touchdowns with three interceptions. Parrish is 23-0 as a starting quarterback and has thrown at least one TD pass in 22 of 23 starts. Colquitt County is 8-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class AAAAAA.

5. RB/DB Colby Wood, Jefferson:Wood's team did not play last week. For the season, Wood has rushed for 1,513 yards and 21 touchdowns on 203 carries (7.5 ypc) and has caught seven passes for 108 yards and one touchdown. He has intercepted two passes, forced one fumble and made 22 tackles, two behind the line of scrimmage. Jefferson (8-0) is ranked No. 3 in AAA.

6. LB Tre Lamar, Roswell:Lamar had five tackles, one for a loss, a sack, two QB hurries and a forced fumble in a 69-7 victory over Woodstock. In eight games, Lamar has 96 tackles, 18 behind the line of scrimmage, four sacks and a blocked punt for an undefeated team allowing 6.1 points per game and ranked No. 3 in Class AAAAAA. Lamar, who is committed to Clemson, is the first AJC Super 11 player in Roswell history. He is rated the No. 8 inside linebacker prospect nationally by 247Sports' composite rankings.

7. QB Chase Brice, Grayson:Brice was 16-of-24 passing for 229 yards and three touchdowns in a 40-0 victory over Dacula that clinched Region 8-AAAAAA. For the season, Brice is 107-of-168 for 1,704 yards and 18 touchdowns with four interceptions. Brice is the consensus No. 11 pro-style quarterback prospect nationally among juniors and reportedly favors Clemson and Michigan State.

8. QB Kaelan Riley, Calhoun:Riley was 10-of-15 passing for 199 yards and three touchdowns in a 70-13 victory over Murray County. On the season, Riley is 83-of-126 passing (.658) for 1,406 yards and 15 touchdowns. He has rushed for 349 yards and six touchdowns on 54 carries. Calhoun is 8-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class AAA. Riley is committed to Mercer.

9. DT Antwuan Jackson, Cedar Grove:Jackson had eight tackles, four for losses, and two sacks in a 35-8 victory over North Clayton. On the season, Jackson has 49 tackles, a DeKalb County-leading 28 stops for losses, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and eight sacks for a 7-1 team ranked No. 4 in Class AAA. Jackson, an AJC Super 11 pick, is rated the consensus No. 7 senior prospect in Georgia and No. 56 player nationally.

10. QB Addison Shoup, Walton: Shoup was 19-of-21 passing for 324 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-9 victory over Milton. On the season, he's 136-of-206 for 2,354 yards and 21 touchdowns for a 7-1 team ranked No. 9 in Class AAAAAA. Shoup is not a major college recruit and could end up playing baseball in college.
