No. 4 St. Pius hosts No. 6 Columbia tonight in a key Region 6-AAA boys battle.

The Eagles beat the Golden Lions 46-37 at home in December.

St. Pius coach Aaron Parr says the key to avenging that loss tonight is slowing down Columbia big man Micaiah Henry. The 6-8 senior forward has been a dominant force for the Eagles on both ends of the court.

“We’ve got to keep him from controlling the paint,” Parr said.

Easier said than done: Henry has posted numerous triple-doubles this season.

Parr plans to pressure Columbia’s guards in an attempt to make the entry pass into Henry difficult. Once he does get the ball, St. Pius’s 6-5 forward Kerney Lane will be tasked with slowing him down. Also look for 6-7 Jakob Spitzer to come off the bench in support.

Fouling Henry is not St. Pius' best option, Parr said.

"He didn't miss a free throw in the first game when they beat us," Parr said.

The Golden Lions (16-3, 10-2) are in second place in the region, one game ahead of Columbia (12-5, 7-3) and Stone Mountain (14-5, 9-3). Lithonia (17-1, 12-0) leads the region.
