The scoreboards were running hot among the ranked teams form Class AAA on Friday night.

Of the eight ranked teams that had a game this week, seven of them scored at least 35 points. The winning team averaged 42.5 points in those eight wins, with Hart County leading the way with 74 and Calhoun scoring 57.

It was that kind of week.

No. 9 Hart County led the way by putting a 74-12 whipping on winless Oglethorpe County. It was the most points ever scored by a Hart County team.

Hart (4-0) scored five times in the first quarter. It began when Sean Harper returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and continued when Rogerick Goss returned an interception for a touchdown.

The Bulldogs added a touchdown pass from Cameron Fouch to Zack Maldonado, a long run by Trey Clark and a punt return by Andrew Bell. By the time halftime came around Hart led 62-6.

Here are the other highlights from the high-scoring Friday:

Gray shines for No. 1 Waco: One of the biggest nights belonged to No. 1 Washington County, which scored a 47-27 road win over Class AAAA No. 5 Burke County.

Washington County quarterback A.J. Gray ran for 253 yards and four touchdowns. The senior also threw for 154 yards, with three of his five completions going to Logan Hunt for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

Dennis, Riley lead No. 2 Calhoun: The Yellow Jackets (4-0) got stellar efforts from quarterback Kaelan Riley and running back Olico Dennis in a 57-8 win over North Murray. Riley completed 8 of 11 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 81 yards. Dennis carried five times for 99 yards and three touchdowns.

Peach County improves to 4-0: The No. 5 Trojans (4-0) whipped Spencer 35-6, as Keyshawn Lowe scored twice before leaving the game with a hip pointer. His replacement, James Jackson, also scored twice.

Westside gets tested: No. 7 Westside Macon (4-0) got a test from Central, but wound up winning 35-7. The games was tied in the third quarter when quarterback Marcus Williams went wild with three touchdown passes, two to Gerimie Mitchell and one to Marque Sanford. The Seminoles are now 13-0 against the Chargers.

Blessed Trinity's defense shines: The No. 3 Titans (4-0) limited Jackson to 89 yards and picked up their second straight shutout with a 42-0 win. Elijah Hamilton ran for two touchdowns for B.T. which got a pair of pick-six interception returns from Patrick Jasinski and Garrett Dupuis.

Defense rules for No. 8 Central Carroll: The Lions didn't have a great offensive night, as the offense that produced 55 points last week was held to 166 yards. But Central still managed to prevail 10-0 over Fayette County. Scott Anderson kicked a 24-yard field goal and Jayleen Terry scored on a 3-yard run for the Lions (4-0).

In other games involving teams bubbling just below the top 10:

Oconee County remained unbeaten with a 41-14 win over Greene County. Zeb Noland threw for 203 yards threw for a touchdown and ran for another. Christian Casey also rushed for 114 yards and one score. The Blue Devils are 4-0 for the first time since 2001.

Dodge County remained unbeaten by beat Southeast Bulloch 24-6, The Indians got two touchdown runs from Keith Glover and another from Roscoe Wilcox and improved to 4-0. Landon Martin led Dodge with125 yards rushing and Wilcox added 82.
