How the game was won: After a scoreless opening quarter, host Newnan opened the second quarter with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Chancellor Johnson to Marquis Hill. Carrollton answered with a DeMarcus Mitchell touchdown run but the kick failed and the Trojans still trailed 7-6. Darryel Hines helped Newnan regain control with a 4-yard rushing touchdown with 3:41 left in the half, but the Cougars missed the point after and the lead remained 13-6. Hill scored on a keeper to increase the lead to 20-6 and on the final play of the half. Carrollton's Jaylan Thomas scored on a 60-yard run. Hill responded with a 42-yard Newnan touchdown run to open the second half and Hines iced the game with 9:28 left in the final quarter with a 5-yard run that capped off a 10-play 96-yard Cougars drive.

Top Performers: Johnson led Newnan with a game-high 116 yards passing and one touchdown off of 13-for-19 passing. … Marquis Hill took 13 carries for 122 yards and two touchdowns and his Newnan teammate Hines added 77 rushing yards and a pair of scores on 21 carries. … Carrollton's Thomas finished with a team-high 90 rushing yards and a touchdown and DeMarcus Mitchell took 15 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown.
