Both Vidalia and Macon County fell to 2-2 with losses and that dropped both programs out of the top 10. As a result, a pair of 4-0 teams in Screven County and Model are newcomers to the rankings and enter at No. 9 and 10, respectively.

Screven County went 10-2 last season and the Gamecocks have outscored their opponents 180-13 thus far, though two of their wins have come against teams from South Carolina. The Gamecocks begin Region 3 play this week with Jefferson County.

Model's turnaround under coach Gordon Powers continues, with the Blue Devils off to a 4-0 start for the second year in a row. The Blue Devils had 12 consecutive non-winning seasons before Powers arrived in 2012, but have enjoyed winning seasons every year since he took over. They went 9-3 last season.

The top four remained unchanged, with No. 1 Benedictine, No. 2 Fitzgerald, No. 3 GAC and No. 4 Pace Academy all winning by at least three scores.

Vidalia was at No. 5 when winless McIntosh County Academy beat them, which moved each of the top 10 teams from last week up a spot. Rabun County takes over at No. 5, followed by Darlington, Dublin and Wesleyan.
