Lumpkin County has promoted offensive coordinator Ty Maxwell as head football coach, according to the Gainesville Times. Maxwell will replace Bad Waggoner, who was hired as assistant director of football player personnel at Georgia Tech.

Maxwell was the offensive line coach for the past four seasons at Chestatee and was hired onto Waggoner’s staff in the off-season.

Maxwell was an assistant at Lumpkin County for the 2007 and 2008 seasons while finishing school at North Georgia.
