Last week: Beat Shiloh 42-6. Grayson took a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, which included Justin Young's 85-yard interception return for a touchdown, and wasn't threatened from there. QB Chase Brice was 13-of-19 passing for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Grayson has won 10 straight against Shiloh. Next: Friday vs. Central Gwinnett (4-2)
3. (3) Valdosta (7-0)
Last week: Beat Tift County 27-24. Brennan Goodson kicked a 38-yard field goal with 1:53 left to break a 24-24 tie. Khalil McClain had eight catches for 116 yards and the TD reception that gave Valdosta a 24-17 lead. Valdosta is 7-0 for the first time since 2001. Next: Friday vs. Colquitt County (7-0)
4. (6) Lowndes (6-1)
Last week: Beat Camden County 27-21. Dezmon Copeland's 19-yard TD run with 6:24 left broke a 21-21 tie. Lowndes surprisingly had more yards passing than rushing - 141-112 - as Austin Dixon (4-of-5 for 76 yards) and LaXavier Patterson (4-of-6, 65 yards) each had first-half TD passes as Lowndes got out to a 21-6 lead. Last week: Beat Cherokee 23-0. Cherokee got inside Milton's 25-yard line five times but lost two fumbles, was stopped twice on downs and missed a field goal. Milton's Micco Brisker rushed for 85 yards on 17 carries. Austin McLeod was 12-of-17 passing for 177 yards. Next: Friday at Walton (2-5)

Last week: Beat Glynn Academy 42-21. Ware held Glynn to less than 75 yards in total offense and four first downs. Two Glynn touchdowns came on kickoff returns. Ware's Jarvis Belcher rushed for 82 yards on 10 carries and caught a 41-yard TD pass. Xavier Hollmon was 6-of-7 passing for 106 yards. Next: Friday vs. Effingham County (5-2)
2. (3) Coffee (6-1)
Last week: Beat South Effingham 35-28. QB Tyree Paulk scored on a 38-yard run with 3:40 left to break a 28-28 tie against a team that entered 2-3. Coffee had trouble stopping South Effingham's Patrick Brown, who ran for 195 yards. Coffee's Lecarvius Sears rushed for more than 140 yards. Next: Friday vs. Brunswick (4-2)

Last week: Beat Gainesville 26-23. Lanier emerged as the only unbeaten team in Region 8 after Mason Harwood made a 41-yard field goal with 14 seconds left. Lanier had led 23-9 in the fourth quarter. Tario Fuller rushed for 141 yards on 32 carries. Next: Friday at Heritage-Conyers (2-4)
7. (NR) Carver-Atlanta (6-1)
Last week: Beat Creekside 32-29. Carver had 318 yards rushing as a team, 132 by Gregory Payton. Carver took a 26-21 lead in the third quarter on a fake-punt run of 85 yards by Quintin Gates, a sophomore, on fourth-and-12. Creekside retook a 29-26 lead, but Carver drove 65 yards for the winning score without attempting a pass. Carver coach Darren Myles called it the biggest victory in his 10 seasons at the Atlanta school. Next: Oct. 24 vs. Mays (4-2)

Last week: Beat Dunwoody 54-7. Dunwoody scored first, but Stephenson scored the next 54 points and took the lead on a 65-yard punt return by Isaiah Zuber. Last week: Beat Whitewater 30-14. Eric Swinney rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries. Whitewater, which entered ranked No. 9, got 141 yards rushing from Christian Wafford and was withn 20-14 in the third quarter but got no closer. Next: Thursday at Troup (3-3)

Last week: Beat Mount Zion-Jonesboro 48-16. Malik Miller rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns and caught three passes for 79 yards. Keyston Fuller caught a 74-yard TD pass from Anforne Stroud. Next: Friday vs. Spalding (4-2)

Last week: Beat Crisp County 31-0. Johntavis Johnson rushed for 122 yards and caught a 46-yard TD shovel pass. Chad Marshall was 11-of-12 passing for 107 yards. Last week: Beat Marist 10-9. Michael Matthews kicked a 30-yard field goal with 20 seconds left at the end of a drive that began after Marist had taken a 9-7 lead at 1:53. The rushing yardage between the two was about equal (Marist led 173-163), but St. Pius had more balance as Reed Egan was 9-of-14 for 127 yards and a touchdown. Next: Friday vs. Chamblee (1-5)

Last week: Beat Howard 47-7. Tre Weaver returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown that made it 27-0 in the second quarter. Dee High rushed for 92 yards on 16 carries. In a game between unbeaten Savannah private schools, Jeremiah Mercer returned a punt 44 yards to the Savannah Christian 1-yard line in the third quarter, and Robert Heyward scored on the next play. Heyward, a preseason all-state pick, finished with 126 yards rushing, after being held to 12 in the first half, when Calvary had only one first down.
