--Stratford Academy’s Morgan Sowell broke the GISA career scoring record with a six-goal performance in Tuesday’s 17-4 win over Westfield Schools. Sowell has 128 goals for his career, including 28 this season. The Eagles are the two-time defending GISA state champions. The 17 goals scored Tuesday tied a school record, first-year coach Ian Hayley said.

--No. 1 McIntosh’s win streak has reached a school-record 38 matches. Coach Bunky Colvin says the emergence of Adam Sheikali in the midfield. In the last seven games, Sheikali has 10 goals and 11 assists. “He’s really taken us to another level,” said Colvin.

--The Central Lions clinched their first region championship in program history with a 5-0 win at Rockmart on Tuesday. The Lions will be the top seed out of Region 4-AAA in the state tournament.

--The GHSA state soccer championships will be held May 16-17 at the University of West Georgia and Kennesaw State University..

--Greater Atlanta Christian, Class AA’s No. 1 team, has wins over three top-ranked teams. The Spartans have beaten St. Pius, No. 1 in AAA, and Atlanta International, No. 1 in Class A, and Vestavia Hills, the No. 1 team Alabama’s 6A classification.

--Glynn Academy goal keeper Connor Behrend recorded a shutout and scored two goals during the Terrors’ 10-0 win over Jenkins on Thursday. Roman Brockman added two goals and an assist for Glynn Academy.
