Here are some of Class A’s top games in Week 3:

No. 1 in AA Greater Atlanta Christian (2-0) at Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (0-2).  ELCA took an uncharacteristically brutal beating last week at the hands of Class AAAA Stockbridge (33-3), as the Chargers' young lineup goes through its growing pains.  But they won't have time to lick their wounds as the top ranked team in Class AA comes south to McDonough.  The undefeated Spartans are led by two of the state's most sought-after uncommitted recruits, WR/DB Darius Slayton and RB/DB Micha Abernathy certainly worth discussion and will be covered in this space in the coming weeks.

Bradwell Institute (0-1) at No. 3 Calvary Day (1-0).  The Cavaliers of Savannah will look to pick up some valuable power rating points with a win over a team from Class AAAAA.  In the GHSA/MaxPreps Power Rating system used to determine playoff teams in Class A, teams are awarded 10 points for each win. If the victory is over a team from a higher classification, a point is added for every classification higher -- one point for a win over a team from Class AA, 2 extra points for a win over a team from Class AAA, and so on.  When the number for the win or loss has been determined, which would be 14 for a win over Bradwell Institute, add that number to the total amount of Bradwell's wins at the end of the regular season divided by 10, and then multiply that number by 10.

North Clayton at No. 4 Mount Paran Christian School (2-0).  Mount Paran will continue its quest to show that it has become one of the state's better programs when it welcomes one of the metro area's traditionally talented public school teams, North Clayton, to Kennesaw.  MPC is led by a trio of talented seniors in running back Dorian Walker, quarterback Jake Allen and receiver Emoni Williams.

Hilliard (Fla.) at No. 5 Charlton County (1-0).  Charlton County will celebrate its home opener with a visit from the Hilliard Red Flashes, a school in Florida's Class A that has finished 7-4 each of the past two seasons.  Hilliard is located about 10 miles south of Folkston, just across the Georgia-Florida border. Charlton is coming off of an impressive win over Class AA Manchester, 32-13, last week.

Columbus at No. 8 Brookstone (1-0).  Like Calvary Day, Brookstone of Columbus hopes to earn a goodly amount of power rating points with a win over a team from four classifications higher. The teams have met twice previously, with Brookstone winning both games, 17-14 last season and 35-8 in 2012.
