--Woodward Academy returned a kickoff, a punt and an interception for touchdowns in the undefeated War Eagles’ 51-21 rout of Troup on Friday. Joshua Johnson had a 78-yard kickoff return, Jeffrey Hubbard returned a punt for 62 yards and Xavion Fleetwood returned an interception 75 yards for Woodward Academy, which hosts Sandy Creek in two weeks.
--St. Pius running back and defensive back Grant Holloman wore No. 31 instead of his usual No. 3 in honor of injured teammate Ransom Klinger during the Golden Lion`s’ 24-14 win over Marist on Friday.
Holloman hauled in a 62-yard pass from quarterback Reed Egan, which set up a key late touchdown and led to St. Pius’ fourth straight win in the rivalry.

--Upson-Lee (5-1, 2-1 2-AAAA) at Mary Persons (6-0, 2- 2-AAAA): Upson-Lee can make a statement with a win at Mary Persons. But it won’t be easy. Mary Persons hammered the Knights 42-0 last season in the programs’ only previous meeting. Bulldogs quarterback’ Jake Johnson threw three touchdown passes in a convincing 47-21 win over Howard on Friday and have outscored region opponents 89-35 this season.
Thomson (5-1, 0-0 Region 3-AAAA) at Liberty County (5-2, 2-0 3-AAAA): Thomson has owned this series, winning four of five meetings, including last season’s tight 16-14 game. Liberty County is coming off an impressive 26-20 win over Burke County and can take firm control over the region with a win over the Bulldogs. Thomson lost to Burke County, 26-20, two weeks ago.
