GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.
Heath Webb, Winder-Barrow
1. What is the most memorable game you've been a part of as a player or coach? "As a quarterback at Habersham Central in 1993 vs. Stephens County, whose quarterback was current Habersham Central head coach Benji Harrison. I hit a post route to set up the game-winning field goal with 43 seconds left in OT. The final score was 6-3. What an offensive shootout! I think Benji and I may be better coaches than we were QBs."
2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why? "That's a tough one. The state of Georgia is loaded with talented coaches, but two stick out - T. McFerrin and Jeff Herron. These two gentlemen win the right way but also are great mentors to young men."
3. What is your favorite saying or motto? "My pet peeve as a coach is when a player quits because he wants to get a job. I always say, 'You've got your whole life to work. Play and be a kid while you still can!'"
4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed? "I'm sticking with my same answer as last year - 25-second play clocks in every stadium. I think it would lead to consistent officiating, which would, in turn, make for better football."
