In Class 7A, Etowah finishes at No. 1 after winning the program’s first state title. The Eagles came out of Region 5 battle tested and entered the playoffs as the No. 4 seed. State runner-up Woodstock was the No. 3 seed out of Region 5 and its No. 2 ranking to close the season is its highest. North Gwinnett entered the playoffs No. 1, but finishes the season No. 3 after falling in the semifinals.

Class 6A state champion Pope banners the top 10 after defeating No. 2 Lee County in the finals. Semifinalists River Ridge and Johns Creek join 31-5 Allatoona in the top 5. In Class 5A, state champion Loganville finishes at No. 1 after entering the playoffs at No. 7. Pre-playoff No. 1 Starr’s Mill closed out the year at No. 3 after advancing to the semis.

Blessed Trinity fell in the state championship and finishes No. 2 for the second straight season, while Class 4A state champion Marist claims No. 1. Class 3A North Hall posted 31 wins this season and joins Pope as the only other state champ that entered the playoffs ranked No. 1.

In Class 2A, Jeff Davis defeated pre-playoff No. 1 Elbert County for the title and closes the season at No. 1. Schley County took the Class A-Public state championship with a 34-2 record, the state’s best winning percentage this season. Savannah Christian, which was ranked No. 1 throughout the season, but entered the playoffs at No. 3, took the Class A-Private state crown and closes out the year on top.
