Elite defensive linemen are in such great supply in Class AAA that GHSF Daily's preseason all-state team considered going to a 5-3 defense. It is impossible to accommodate all the Division I prospects at one position, which is unusual for a middle classification.

The ultimate front four included Peach County's Marquies Price (committed to Duke) and Ringgold's Zach Morris (all-state in 2013), both rated among the top 100 senior prospects at any position in Georgia. But the most highly regarded of this group are juniors Michail Carter of Jackson and Antwuan Jackson of Cedar Grove, both rated among the top 16 class-of-2016 players in the state.

The most highly recruited player at any position in Class AAA is Callaway's Terry Godwin, a wide receiver and defensive back. He is listed in the secondary here. Godwin, a consensus top-25 recruit nationally, has committed to Georgia.
