Peach County keeps chugging along. The Trojans won again on Friday and its defense was again at the forefront. The result was their sixth straight win.

The No. 5 Trojans (6-1) got a pair of defensive touchdowns in a 35-12 win over Kendrick. Jamain Thompson scored on a blocked punt and Otha Redding returned an interception for a score as the Trojans burst to a 35-0 first-half lead.
The offense got a pair of touchdown runs from James Jackson and a 38-yard touchdown pass from Tyrique McGhee to Kearis Jackson.
Peach has won five straight since losing the season opener to Warner Robins. The Trojans could move a step closer to the Region 2-AAA championship next week if it can score a road win over No. 9 Jackson.
Dodge survives flag storm
No. 8 Dodge County had to survive a slew of penalties on Friday night, 13 of them for 125 yards. espite that, the Indians hung on for a 7-3 win over Appling County.
Dodge got a first-quarter score from Keith Glover, a 2-yard run. From that point the Indians kept pounding the ball on the ground, 46 rushes for 144 yards. Camron Young rushed for a game-high 107.
Dodge County gets this week off before traveling to Cook for a crucial game in Region 1-AAA.
That’s 113 straight for Calhoun
The No. 1 Yellow Jackets stifled Sonoraville 38-0. Olico Dennis rushed 10 times for 114 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Kaelan Riley threw for 232 yards on 11-for-18 passing and one touchdown. It was Calhoun’s second shutout of the year. Calhoun bumped its streak of region victories to 113 in a row.
Defense big for Blessed Trinity
No. 2 Blessed Trinity warmed up for next week’s showdown with Westminster by unleashing a tenacious defense on Therrell. The TItans had seven sacks in the 46-7 win, three of them coming from Shane Parton.
The offense had plenty of life, too. Quarterback Conor Davis threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns and tailback Milton Shelton carried 15 times for 105 yards and three touchdowns.
Jefferson posts second shutout
No. 3 Jefferson scored the first three times it had the ball and had its second shutout of the season a 17-0 win over Morgan County. Jefferson has allowed 25 points over its last five games.
Running back Colby Wood rushed 23 times for 153 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Dragons.
Callaway overcomes illness, injuries
No. 10 Callaway trounced Cedartown 43-17 on Thursday, but may have lost its quarterback. Braylon Sanders hurt his knee and will examined over the weekend.
The Cavaliers also worked around a couple of ill running backs. Cedric Maynard ran for 100 yards, ran for a touchdown and caught a touchdown pass, but did not play in the second half. Tyrek Frazier, who also did not feel well, scored three touchdowns in the win.
