Jones County, the team that upset No. 1-ranked Northside of Warner Robins last week, has never won more than nine games in a season dating to the school's start in football in 1945. The school's most famous alumnus is probably a basketball player who was a first-round draft pick of the Atlanta Hawks. Who is he? (Answer Tuesday)
Answer to Friday's question: Schools named Archer, Campbell, Howard, Hughes, Lanier, Sequoyah and Walker existed before the current schools of those names opened. The locations of the previous schools are: Archer (Atlanta), Campbell (Fairburn), Howard (Atlanta), Hughes (Macon), Lanier (Macon), Sequoyah (Doraville) and Walker (Atlanta). None of the original schools are connected to the current ones. GACA Hall of Fame coach Billy Henderson is a graduate of Lanier. Pro Basketball Hall of Fame player Walt Frazier, also a high school quarterback, is a graduate of Howard.
