How the game was won: Dacula used a dominant defense to stay within striking distance of host South Gwinnett and ultimately mount a second-half charge. South Gwinnett went up 7-0 in the second quarter but had a field goal blocked as time expired on the first half while looking to extend its lead. With the score tied at 7-7, both teams turned the ball over in the final three minutes of the game. The Comets' gaffe proved most costly, as Dacula's Demarco McInnis returned an interception for a clinching touchdown with 57 seconds remaining.
Top performers: After giving the Falcons their first lead in the waning moments, McInnis picked off yet another South Gwinnett pass to ice the game. ... Verkarry Pickens also had an interception for Dacula that stopped a Comets' drive early in the second quarter. ...
