Banneker junior Ryan Clark ran the 100 meters in 10.54 seconds to take over the No. 1 spot in the state in that event. Fellow junior Warren Coombs of Greenbriar took second in a time of 10.61, which is now the state's second fastest time.
Also at the meet, Shiloh junior Jeremy McDuffie became the new triple jump leader after his mark of 48-6 ¾, while Lovejoy junior Preston Williams, considered by many to be the state's best receiver, is No. 2 in the state after his jump of 48-1. Both of Westlake's relay teams claimed the top spots at the meet. The Lions' 400- and 1,600-meter relays ran times of 41.49 and 3:18.76, respectively.
For the girls, the state's top five times in the 1,600 meters were run this weekend, four of which were at The Coaches Invitational. Marist junior Morgan Ilse became the first to go under five minutes with a time of 4:59.47, ahead of seniors Addy Lippitt of Peachtree Ridge (5:05.42), Alex Cameron of Dunwoody (5:09.22) and Anna Gandolfo of Blessed Trinity (5:10.44). Sophomore Emma Grace Hurley of Fellowship Christian ran 5:10.36 at Landmark Christian last week to claim the state's fourth best time in the event.
Marist senior Bailey Weiland jumped 5-11 in the high jump to take over the state's top spot in that event. North Cobb senior Shanel Burr became the first to go under 14 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles with a state-leading time of 13.94, while Fayette County junior Chinyere Njoku's time of 14.39 in the event is good enough for third in Georgia. Westlake's 1,600-meter relay team became the state's new leader in that event with a time of 3:51.36, which is also sixth in the nation.

(Boys) Nathan Strother, Norcross, 38.31 in the 300 meter hurdles (Roswell Relays); Keyth Fightmaster, Calhoun, 6-11 in the high jump (Greater Atlanta Christian Invitational); Jaylan Reid, Hillgrove, 60-4 in the shot put; North Gwinnett, 1:32.11 in the 800 meter sprint medley (The Coaches Invitational); Walton (17:29.36), Brookwood (17:51.53), Mill Creek (18:18.84), Peachtree Ridge (18:22.18) in the 6,400 meter relay (The Coaches Invitational); Brookwood, 8:04.18 in the 3,200 meter relay (The Coaches Invitational).
(Girls) McEachern, 46.87 in the 400 meter relay (Four-way meet at McEachern); Brookwood, 21:42.90 in the 6,400 meter relay (The Coaches Invitational); North Springs, 4:16.25 in the sprint medley relay (Jefferson Relays); Northview, 12:43.12 in the distance medley relay (Roswell Relays).
iDareU Middle School Showcase
iDareU, the premiere football training group in the southeast, is hosting its third annual combine/camp for middle school students.
The iDareU Middle School Showcase is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the group's Roswell location – 11595 King Road. Pre-registration is $50, through March 20. The walk-up registration fee is $60. All participants will receive a t-shirt, have their photo and all measurable listed on the iDareU website, and the top performers will receive awards at the end of the event.
Current iDareU athletes include UGA cornerback Shaq Wiggins, South Carolina safety Chaz Elder, Stanford defensive back Ronnie Harris, Georgia Tech safety Isaiah Johnson, and high school all-state performers ML King defensive back Wesley Green, running back Eric Swinney and linebacker Khari Lain of Sandy Creek, offensive tackle Dallas Warmack and linebacker Natrez Patrick of Mays, Our Lady of Mercy defensive back Christian Coleman and Creekside defensive back Cameron Jackson.
