Upper Left Bracket
No. 9 Wesleyan 34, No. 8 Christian Heritage 13: Sophomore QB J.C. French shook off a thigh injury to account for three touchdowns, two rushing and three passing, to lead the Wolves (10-2) into the state quarterfinals. Christian Heritage ended its season 9-2.
No. 16 Savannah Christian 35, No. 1 Savannah Country Day 14: Senior RB Markell Brown rushed for 120 yards on 20 carries, including touchdown runs of 12 and 61 yards, while junior QB Spencer Robicheaux was 7-of-11 passing for 110 yards and scored on two, 1-yard touchdown runs to help the Raiders (8-3) pull the upset and avenge a regular season loss to the Hornets (10-1). Bradley Anderson grabbed two interceptions to lead the Raider defense.
Lower Left Bracket
No. 12 Hebron Christian 35, No. 5 Mount de Sales 6: QB Colton Gauthier threw two touchdown passes and ran for two as well to lead the Lions (8-4) in an upset rout of the previously unbeaten Cavaliers (10-1).
No. 4 Fellowship Christian (10-0) 14, No. 13 North Cobb Christian (8-3) 0: The Paladins (11-0) broke a scoreless tie at halftime with an 8-yard run by Jayven Hall in the third quarter and a 1-yarder by Eli Hildebrandt in the fourth to outlast Eagles (8-4).
Upper Right
No. 23 Mount Paran Christian 16, No. 7 Darlington 13: Senior QB Niko Vangarelli completed key passes when he had to, going 6-of-12 for 110 yards, while rushing for 144 yards on 31 carries and two touchdowns, including the 4-yard game winner with less than two minutes remaining, to give the Eagles (7-4) the win over the Tigers (9-2).
No. 2 Holy Innocents' (10-0) 42, No. 18 St. Francis (7-4) 3: Senior RB/LB Michael Cox scored four touchdowns on runs of 15, 1, 8 and 15 yards again as the Bears (11-0) mauled the Knights (7-5).
Lower Right Bracket
No. 6 Eagle's Landing Christian 62, No. 11 Prince Avenue Christian 57: ELCA senior QB Gabe Wright scored the game-winning touchdown on an 11-yard run with a little over a minute left in regulation, to give the four-time defending state champions a narrow win. The teams' best players battled to a draw as senior RB Keaton Mitchell led the Chargers with six touchdowns, while Prince Avenue junior QB Brock Vandagriff threw for six scores.
No. 3 Athens Academy 52, No. 19 Brookstone 7: The Spartans (11-0) led 17-0 after the first quarter and 45-0 at halftime as they dismantled the Cougars (7-5). QB Palmer Bush threw four touchdown passes – three to Deion Colzie, one to Kurt Knisely – and ran for another score. Knisely also scored three rushing touchdowns.
