The offseason has produced fewer coaching changes across the state than normal years, and it's no surprise that coaches likely just want to stay where they are. Shelter-in-place, if you will.

There have been four coaching changes in Class AAA this offseason, and the Savannah regions have been the busiest. Beach, Savannah, Windsor Forest and Tattnall County each made moves.

Beach hired Michael Thompson to replace Ulysses Hawthorne. Thompson coached GISA powerhouse Memorial Day to six state championships from 2008-2018. Savannah hired Michael Moore to replace Rebel Green. Last season, Green led Savannah to a 2-8 record. Moore coached one season at New Hampstead, where he led the Phoenix to a 5-5 record. Tattnall County hired former Windsor Forest coach Ike Ferrell to replace Nick Tatum. Tatum led Tattnall County to a 1-9 record in 2019. Ferrell coached Windsor Forest to a 6-5 record in 2019.

And Windsor Forest hired Jeb Stewart, who coached at Twiggs County in 2012-13 and compiled a 5-15 record.
