How the game was won: Carver Columbus fought back from a 16-0 first half deficit and finally took its first lead with 3:03 left to clinch the Region 1-AAAAA title in thrilling fashion. David Apiag gave Northside an early 7-0 lead with a touchdown run and Nathan Robertson extended it to 16-0 with three field goals, including a 46 yarder. Carver finally got on the board and successfully made it 16-8 before the half with a two point conversion and Robertson missed the first of two kicks that could have helped put the game away. Carver opened the second half with a 58-yard touchdown run by Darius Love but failed the 2-point try and trailed 16-14. Dayshun Johnson blocked Carver's punt on their next possession and Caleb Johnson scooped it up for a 33-yard touchdown to make it a 23-14 game. Carver answered with a 1-yard Jawon Pass touchdown dive but failed another conversion to keep the deficit at 23-20. On Carver's next possession, Northside forced a punt and the Tigers gave them two points after snapping the ball out of the endzone. With a 25-20 lead, Robertson would miss his field goal attempt from 50 yards and give the Tigers a chance to win with a touchdown. Carver converted on a crucial 4th and 10 and Love finished the drive with a 13-yard game winning score with three minutes left. Pass added the two-point conversion to make it a 28-25 lead.
