It looks like Buford is going to play this season with a chip on its shoulder.
After failing to get to the state championship game last year for the first time in a decade, the Wolves have come out of the gate like a team on a mission. After dismantling Tucker 40-14 on opening night, Buford spotted Jonesboro a touchdown on Friday and rolled to a 58-7 win.
Derrian Brown ran for 155 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Buford offense. Quarterback Aaron McLaughlin completed 12 of 22 passes for 165 with one interception. The Wolves’ defense got sacks from five different players and did not allow a first down in the first half. (Jonesboro’s only first-half first down came via penalty.)
Next week the Wolves host Deerfield Beach, Fla.
