Freshman Tyler Lipscomb of Bremen shot a tournament-record 7-under 65 to win the Oak Mountain Championship in Carrollton. He won by seven shots and shaved three strokes off the previous best score. Lipscomb has made a verbal commitment to Alabama.
Lovett won the team championship with a 308 and Northgate was second with a 311.
Northgate boys captures Trojan Invitational
Northgate, led by Jaden Hall, took the 36-hole Greenway Trojan Invitational in Carrollton with a 611.
Hall shot a 3-over 145, shooting 74-71. Chris Whitney shot 77-78 and Nathan Garner shot 78-78, with Tanner Lee adding a 77-81 for the Vikings.
Chandler Dixon of Carrollton was medalist with rounds of 71-72 to finish at 1-over 143 and score a two-shot victory..
Colquitt girls win Lady Packer Invitational
Elizabeth Funderburk overcame wet conditions to shoot a 74 and lead Colquitt County to victory at the Lady Packer Invitational at Sunset Country Club in Moultrie. Paddgett Chitty of Valdosta and Julianna Collett of Glynn Academy were second with 75s.
Colquitt finished with a 240 and counted an 80 from Alexis Griner and an 86 from Shelby Tidwell. It was the fourth tournament victory for the Packers this season.
Columbus shot 241, followed by Vidalia at 243 and Glynn Academy at 244.
Dalton girls take Windstone Invitational
The Dalton girls were easy winners at the Windstone Invitational in Ringgold, which used a point system rather than stroke play.
The Catamounts got 38 points from medalist Carson Roberts and scored 102 team points. Roberts shot a 2-under 70. Katelyn Skiffen had 37 points and shot a 71. Baylee Mitchell shot 82, scored 27 points and finished fourth.
Gordon Lee was second with 57½ points and Gordon Central was third with 46½ points.
