In Class AA, the top seven teams remain the same.

In the lower portion of the rankings, Rabun County and Darlington each moved up a spot and now Dublin is a top 10 team.

How would either of the three bottom top 10 teams have fared against Lovett's schedule? Impossible to say. But when the Lions start the season off 0-3, you have to make room for other teams.

Lovett is not done playing some of the state's best competition. The Lions will be tasked with slowing down Elijah Holyfield and Woodward Academy this week. Woodward - mostly because of Holyfield - is AAAA's No. 3-ranked team.

If the Lions lose, they're done for the season, right?

Wrong. The Lions are 0-1 in region 6-AA after losing to Pace Academy in the season opener.

So we have Lovett potentially starting 0-4 overall and essentially being a non-factor until the playoffs. But one look at Lovett's region schedule shows their postseason fate will come down to the finale against GAC.

Pace and GAC appear to be all the rage in Region 6-AA. Those two don't play each other until October.

What if Lovett beats GAC and GAC beats Pace?

One of these teams 6-AA teams will not earn one of the top two seeds in the playoffs. Yet, either three of the teams could make the state finals.

Benedictine likely will be waiting for one of these three teams.
