Warner Robins ended Miller Grove’s 32-game winning streak in the state basketball tournament on Thursday with a 63-57 victory in overtime.
Miller Grove had beaten Warner Robins 70-43 in the 2014 state-championship game.
Warner Robins’ victory not only means there will be a new champion in Class AAAAAA – Miller Grove had won six straight state titles – but there will be a first-time champion in this classification.
The semifinal teams, who will play Saturday at Fort Valley State, have never won a state championship. They are Allatoona, Brunswick, Cedar Shoals and Warner Robins.
