MILLEDGEVILLE – The Morgan County Bulldogs are headed to Macon, where they’ll play the Buford Wolves for the AAA state championship after defeating the Johnson (Savannah) Atom Smashers 70-51 on Saturday at Georgia College.
The Bulldogs (27-5), who are seeking the first state title in program history, will play Buford next Saturday, Mar. 8 at 4:45 p.m.
The Bulldogs led 29-20 at halftime before breaking the game open. Their largest lead was 65-44 with 1:23 remaining in the third quarter.
Tookie Brown led Morgan County with 26 points, followed by Jailyn Ingram (15 points) and C.J. Thurman (13).
The Atom Smashers (25-4), were led by Antwan Maxwell’s 12 points.
