Georgia Tech will have three former players in the field for the Masters, starting Thursday morning.
Larry Mize teed off at 7:56 a.m. with Danny Willett and Byron Meth. It’s his 32nd appearance for the 1987 champion. Mize, author of one of the most memorable shot in Masters history – a 140-foot chip-in to win the tournament in 1987 in a sudden-death-playoff – made the cut last year for the first time since 2009 and just the third time since 2001. They'll go off Friday at 11:03 a.m.
Matt Kuchar tees off at 1:04 p.m. with Brooks Koepka and Graeme McDowell. It’s his ninth Masters, and he has made the cut in seven of his first eight. He has made the top 10 in each of the past three years. They start Friday at 9:35 a.m.
Cameron Tringale tees off at 11:25 a.m. with Ben Martin and Robert Streb. It’s his first Masters appearance. He earned a spot by qualifying for the Tour Championship last year, which also earned him spots at the British and U.S. opens. They tee off at 8:07 a.m. Friday.
This is the first Masters that Stewart CInk has missed since 2003. Aside from the 2003 tournament, he had earned invitations to each Masters 1997-2014. Cink’s 2009 British Open championship earned him a five-year exemption to Augusta. He finished tied for 14th last year, missing by one stroke the invitation awarded to all finishers in the top 12 plus ties.
