Broderick Snoddy’s transition to A-back is apparently complete.
The Georgia Tech running back played his first three seasons, including his redshirt year, primarily as a B-back, but did not see the field much behind David Sims and Zach Laskey.
Coach Paul Johnson has had him work with the A-backs, where Snoddy has previously played on a limited basis.
Asked about it Monday, Johnson said, “I think he’s going to be an A-back, that’s where he’s going to play.”
Snoddy has benefited from multiple A-backs missing part or all of spring practice, including Deon Hill, Synjyn Days and Charles Perkins.
“He’s hot and cold,” Johnson said. “He’s had his days. There’s things he does well. He’s getting a lot of reps because those other guys are hurt, so that’s good for him.”
The move may be felt more in 2015. A-backs Hill, Days, Perkins, B.J. Bostic and Tony Zenon are all rising seniors. Dennis Andrews, a rising sophomore, and Andrews are the only two scholarship A-backs who won’t be seniors. Donovan Wilson was moved from A-back to B-back before the spring. Incoming freshmen Myles Autry and Clinton Lynch are pegged as A-backs and fellow signee C.J. Leggett could play either A-back or B-back.
