Work on the express lanes just got busier. In addition to work on the Northwest Corridor and South Metro express lanes, drivers can expect I-85 express lane extension work to be a nightmare.
The good thing is it'll only last the weekend. The bad thing: Count on being late everywhere.

Northwest Corridor Express Lanes
I-285
Three eastbound lanes will close between Cumberland Boulevard and the I-75 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and again from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
The westbound ramps will close between Powers Ferry Road and the I-75 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
One lane will close on the eastbound on-ramp from Cobb Parkway from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
I-75
Two northbound lanes will close between Delk Road and South Marietta Parkway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and again from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
Two southbound lanes will close between South Marietta Parkway and Delk Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and again from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
One northbound lane will close just before and after Wade Green Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
I-575
One northbound lane will close between Alabama Road and Ridgewalk Parkway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
One northbound lane will close between the I-75 interchange and Barrett Parkway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
A flagging operation will take place on Hawkins Store Road under I-575 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
South Metro Express Lanes
I-75
Up to two northbound lanes will close between the I-675 interchange and Lake Spivey Parkway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
One northbound lane will close just before and after Hudson Bridge Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday, from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday, and from 7 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
One northbound lane will close between Jonesboro Road and Jodeco Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday. The lane will close again from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday. The lane will close a final time from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
One southbound lane will close between the I-675 interchange and Hudson Bridge Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
One northbound and one southbound lane will close just before and after North McDonough Road from 7 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday for the southbound lane and until 5 a.m. Monday for the northbound lane.
I-675
One southbound lane will close just before Hudson Bridge Road from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
I-85 Express Lanes Extension
One northbound lane will close just before the I-985 interchange and along I-985 through the interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
One northbound lane will close past the SR 20 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
One southbound lane will close before and after the SR 20 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
I-285
The northbound off-ramp to Hollowell Parkway will close from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
The northbound and southbound ramps to I-20 westbound will close from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
One northbound lane will close to I-85 northbound in DeKalb County at the Moreland Interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for concrete rehabilitation. The lane will close again from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday. The lane will close one final time from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
One southbound lane will close between Church Street and Memorial Drive from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Up to three eastbound lanes will close just before Jonesboro Road from 9 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday.
Up to three eastbound lanes will close just before and after Moreland Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday.
Two eastbound ramps will close between Jonesboro Road and the I-75 interchange from 6 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday.
I-20
Two eastbound lanes and a shoulder will close between H.E. Holmes and McDaniel Street from noon Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.
The eastbound on-ramp from Lee Street to I-20 eastbound will close from noon Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.
Two westbound lanes and a shoulder will close between the I-285 interchange and just after Thornton Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Downtown Connector
Two northbound lanes and a shoulder will close between University Avenue and the Brookwood Interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.
Two northbound lanes and a shoulder will close between University Avenue and the Brookwood Interchange and the 16th Street entrance from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
I-75
Two northbound lanes and a shoulder will close between Forest Parkway and the I-285 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday.
Three northbound lanes and a shoulder will close at the I-285 interchange from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
I-85
Two northbound lanes will close between Riverdale Road and Virginia Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Ga. 400
One northbound lane will close between Pilgrim Mill Road and Keith Bridge Road from 9 p.m. Friday to noon Monday.
The southbound on-ramp to the MARTA North Springs Station will partially close from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Other State Routes
On Riverside Drive, the bridge will close over I-285 from Cold Stream Court to Fair Oaks Manor from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
On Cobb Parkway, all lanes will close between Nance Road and 3rd Army Road from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
On Moreland Avenue, various lanes will close at South River Industrial Boulevard from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and from 7 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
On Anvil Block Road over I-675, two lanes will close from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge rehabilitation.
On Winder Highway, one northbound and one southbound lane will close between Stanley Court and the Barrow County line from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
On Main Street in Alpharetta, one lane will close between Academy Street and the Forsyth County line from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
On Lavista Road, one southbound lane will close between I-285 and Briarcliff Road from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
