I-285 East at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard has reopened following a small aircraft crash that killed four people at 10 a.m. Friday morning.

Westbound lanes reopened about three hours after the accident. The eastbound lanes were closed until about 3:30 p.m.

The investigation into the cause of the crash could take up to a year and a half, according to NTSB spokesman Keith Holloway. The agency will likely issue a preliminary report next week reporting some investigation details and witness comments, but no analysis or conclusions about the likely cause of the crash.
