AUGUSTA - Tiger Woods' return to the Masters has sent ticket prices soaring.

The average price of attendance Thursday to Sunday is up 19 percent from last year and up 50 percent from 2015, when Woods last played the prestigious tournament, according to Stephen Spiewak at online ticket reseller Vivid Seats.

Inventory for today starts at $2,538 for an individual badge . Stubhub, another ticket reseller, has them from $2,702 today .

AJC sportswriter Jeff Schultz has found Tiger to be in good spirits this week:

"He’s smiling as he’s walking through galleries during practice rounds. He’s stopping to sign autographs. He’s acting gracious around the media. Dare we suggest he has been humbled?"
