"Red Band Society" cast members visit Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary
Atlanta-filmed "Red Band Society" stars Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer as the kind nurse who looks after a group of young people going through all sorts of drama and trauma - not to mention serious illnesses.

Over the weekend cast members visited a true oasis of healing, the Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in Locust Grove. The 501(c)3 non-profit organization provides a permanent safe and loving home to about 1,500 animals, including 100 different species. The Noah's Ark Facebook page, where fans can keep updated on the comings and goings of all the animals, posted these great photos!
Noah's Ark is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday (the animal habitat is open from noon to 3 p.m. those days) and there is no admission charge. The facility relies on donations. It costs approximately $33,000 per month to feed and care for all the animals.
