Marvel's latest installment of "The Avengers" is headquartered at Pinewood Studios in Fayette County but they've been on location, filming in Midtown.

The scene being filmed involves characters in distress but production folks took care to allay any concerns by posting a sign nearby that let everyone know the mayhem was all pretend: "We are filming an accident scene. Do not be alarmed by the presence of actors that appear to be wounded or that are dressed as emergency personnel. Sorry for any inconvenience."

This little guy got the message!

Motorists may find traffic a little more jacked up than usual. Channel 2's Dave Huddleston checked things out earlier for a sense of how long the movie may impact your Midtown drive:

It's creating some midday entertainment for folks in the area. Marvel needs to sign Jasmine Brooks right away if they are looking for astonished bystanders. She's got the look!

Robert Downey Jr. is all excited about his new chair:

Several of the Marvel stars will assemble on Monday for a very special live performance at the Fox Theatre, close to where filming is happening today. Scarlett Johansson pitched a unique idea to aid storm-ravaged Puerto Rico and her colleagues Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans.  Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner have signed on as well. They'll perform a reading of "Our Town" at the Fox Theatre as a benefit for Puerto Rico hurricane recovery efforts. Kenny Leon will direct.
