Marietta's popular annual ice skating rink opens again at noon Sunday after it had to temporarily halt operations due to .. ice.
(Hey, it's not just us: Snow Mountain had to temporarily close due to snow! It also reopens today.)

All kidding aside, I'd say it was a good idea to put operations on hold for a while. AJC Cobb County reporter Ben Brasch intrepidly set out for the Square early Saturday met some folks out for a sally and took the saddest snow-day photo ever . The ice skating rink, set up in Glover Park in the center of the Square, was closed then, but the roads were still pretty icy.
I ran up there Saturday afternoon to check things out and found ice, but no ice skating. (Unless you count the folks sort of slip-sliding their way down the still-frozen sidewalks.) While most of the streets around the Square were quickly thawing and drying, there were plenty of slick icy spots, particularly in shady areas.

The rink has proved so popular that it'll be up a little longer than in past years. And it's back in business today. Be sure to wear your fedora!
