"Celebrating Carey Carter," emceed by longtime Channel 2 anchor and now KISS 104.1 FM host Monica Pearson , is planned for 6 p.m. tonight (March 19) at Flourish, 3143 Maple Drive in Buckhead. The evening will feature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in addition to a fashion show by Saks Fifth Avenue.
The Home Depot, Meals on Wheels Atlanta team up to aid veterans
The Home Depot Foundation recently announced a $1 million donation to Meals On Wheels Atlanta’s Home Repair program to provide major repairs for an estimated 60 senior veterans in the 11-county metro Atlanta region. In addition Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate-led volunteer force, will help with smaller repairs and yard beautification projects.
"It is an honor for The Home Depot Foundation to be affiliated with the Meals on Wheels here in Atlanta and across the country," Catherine Villanueva , manager of Atlanta Giving for The Home Depot Foundation, said in a statement. "Their mission to support senior independence through meals, shelter, education and community aligns very closely with our mission to support veterans, especially senior veterans, who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam."
"We are delighted to continue this partnership with The Home Depot Foundation," Charlene Crusoe-Ingram, CEO of Meals On Wheels Atlanta," said in a statement. "The foundation has enabled us to make a tremendous impact in the lives of so many senior veterans in our community. It is wonderful to be able to give back to those who have themselves given so much."
