In a recent interview with Cheddar, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas revealed she and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins are working on a musical about their lives.
While their story has been told in documentaries and in the VH1 biopic "CrazySexyCool," Chilli said the Broadway will focus on topics they've never discussed publicly.
“We have so many stories to tell,” Thomas said in the interview. “We didn’t tell it all in our biopic we did with VH1. A lot of good stuff. It’s gonna be very emotional but a good ride.”
TLC rose to stardom in the early 1990s. Throughout their three-decade-long career, the Grammy award-winning trio has released five studio albums, selling 65 million records worldwide
The Atlanta group has also overcome several trials. The members have faced financial turmoil and disputes with their record label and management. In 2002, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, the third member of the trio, died in a car accident while filming a documentary in Honduras.
Today, the group still performs. They are currently on tour with Nelly and Flo Rida. They will stop in Atlanta at 7 p.m. July 24 at Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood.
