Doug Roberson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution rates Atlanta United's players after Wednesday's 4-1 loss against NYCFC at Yankee Stadium:

Goalkeeper Brad Guzan, 4: Not much he could do about the first goal, but some might argue getting beaten to the near post on the second goal wasn't good. ... Wasn't helped by defenders on third goal because they failed to take care of the rebound. ... Rounded by Heber on the fourth, which is again nothing he could to stop.

Centerback Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, 2: Weak attempt to tackle Alexandru Mitrita on his opening goal. ... Beaten by Mitrita again on the second goal. ... Seemed to miscommunicate with Robinson on the third goal and was beaten on the fourth goal. ... When he's had a bad game this season, it's been truly bad and inconsistent with his play in the first two seasons. ... Frank de Boer said Gonzalez Pirez can't be blamed because there were a lot of factors, including the turnovers that started the attacks. ... Finished with a team-high eight tackles.

Centerback Miles Robinson, 5: His inability to handle a pass from Hector Villalba led to a turnover and the third goal. ... After that, he won most of his duels and had two tackles.

Centerback Flo Pogba, 4: Yellow card in the 27th minute. ... Plowed over Maxi Moralez for a penalty kick, but was lucky when the kick sailed wide. ... Finished with six tackles.

Defensive midfielder Eric Remedi, 4: Didn't do enough to stop Mitrita on the first goal. ... Yellow card in the 56th minute, which means he will miss Sunday's game at Montreal because of accumulation. ... Moralez finished with three chances created.

Defensive midfielder Darlington Nagbe, 4: No tackles. No chances created. Completed less than 90 percent of his passes for the first time in a long time. Not a lot of influence on the outcome.

Right wingback Franco Escobar, 5: In for Julian Gressel, he got forward but his crosses didn't find targets and he never got into position to take a shot. ... Finished with one chance created and five tackles.

Left wingback Hector Villalba, 4: In his first start as a left wingback, he failed to impress with just one shot and a lot of turnovers, particularly the one that started the sequence for NYCFC's first goal.

Attacking midfielder Emerson Hyndman, 4: Really no impact with just 32 touches and less than 70 percent of his passes completed.

Attacking midfielder Pity Martinez, 6.5: Wasted a golden chance in the 11th minute whe he left uncovered in middle of pitch 17 yards away. ... Quiet first half but rebounded with two chances created in the first 8 minutes of the second half and a goal on a penalty kick. ... Finished with a team-high five chances created.

Striker Brandon Vazquez, 5: In for the injured Josef Martinez, he caused the penalty that led to his team's first goal. ... Finished with three shots, one on target.

Mo Adams (on for Remedi, 69), 4: Yellow card means he will also miss the Montreal game because of yellow card accumulation. ... The card was silly because he already knew that Remedi can't play on Sunday.
