FLOWERY BRANCH – The Falcons concluded their training camp on Wednesday.

The players, who will leave for New York on Thursday, were set to move out of their dorms later Wednesday after team meetings.

In addition to the injury report , here are five things we learned during the final training camp practice:

  1. A STAR IS BORN?: Tyler Starr, one of the stars of Hard Knocks last season, is developing. He had an interception in the team session. "It was a big day for Tyler getting that pick at the end (of practice)," Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. "We're training him at Sam, Leo and trying to look at him as a nickel pass rusher. We like the length and the strength that he's playing with. He's been in there battling for us."
  2. STAN THE MAN: Stansly Maponga had a sack in the game against the Titans. He must play well on special teams in order to make the team. "He has done a good job," Quinn said. "It was great to see him get the rush and I think he's really improved on special teams with coach (Keith) Armstrong going through it. (It's about) how can you play on teams? He's playing on punt and he's playing on kickoffs. He's working at it hard."
  3. ROOKIE PATROL: Rookie Jake Rodgers has moved up to second-team left tackle. The Second-team offensive line included Rogers, left guard Eric Lefeld, center Mike Person, right guard Jon Asamoah and right tackle Tyler Polumbus. Also, Adam Replogle took some snaps with the second group.
  4. TRUFANT UPDATE: Cornerback Desmond Trufant (shoulder) is likely out of Friday's game too. He was jogging with the trainer, keeping up his cardio.
  5. HESTER STILL FAST: Wide receiver Devin Hester flashed his speed on a skinny post. He caught the ball in stride and pulled away for the cornerback and outraced the safety to the endzone.
