– Falcons general

manager Thomas Dimitroff

and

head coach Dan Quinn

spoke to the media at the combine.

Here are the five things we learned:

  1. RESTRICTED TENDERS: The Falcons are likely to use first and second round tenders on restricted free agents Ryan Schraeder and linebacker Paul Worrilow.
  2. MATTHEWS UPDATE: Dimitroff revealed that left Jake Matthews played through an injury last season. We'll have go back and look at the injury reports. If he was injured, he should have been on the injury report.
  3. FREE AGENCY UPDATE: The Falcons want to re-sign linebacker O'Brien Schofield and defensive end Adrian Clayborn, but realized they may get better offers on the open market.
  4. BRUCE IRVIN BATTLE: The Falcons may not be a slam dunk for Seattle linebacker Bruce Irvin. Jacksonville is flushed with cash and ready to stock their defense. Irvin also played for Jacksonville coach Gus Bradley in Seattle. Don't expect the Falcons to get in to a bidding war.
  5. CARRYOVER: The NFL Players Association announced salary-cap "carryover" amounts for every NFL team on Thursday. The Falcons elected to roll over unused salary-cap space from 2014. The amount was $3,905,771.
