FLOWERY BRANCH – The Falcons' 8-8 finish in 2015 was a two-game improvement from the previous season, when they finished 6-10 and fired the winningest coach in franchise history, Mike Smith.
The Falcons appeared to take a step backwards in the NFC South as they posted a 1-5 mark, but the lone victory was over Carolina, which finished 15-1.
While the defense improved and the offense was inconsistent, it’s clear that there’s plenty of work to do to assemble a roster capable of winning the NFC South, going to the playoffs and contending for the Super Bowl title.
The Falcons need to improve the interior of their offensive line, wide receiver, defensive end, tackle and linebackers and may need a strong safety.
