— The Falcons added linebacker Courtney Upshaw and Philip Wheeler and are now preparing for the upcoming NFL draft, which is set for April 28-30 in Chicago.
Upshaw, who played four years in Baltimore, will start out at Leo/outside linebacker for the Falcons and play against the run. He’s expected to add some power to the team’s front seven.
The team will find a role for Wheeler, played well in a reserve role last season.
Upshaw will wear No. 91.
"When I was in high school I was 41, but when I got to the NFL I couldn’t wear that number," Upshaw told the team’s website. "I liked the way No. 91 looked so I went with that. I think Upshaw on top of that No. 91 in Falcons colors is going to look great."
