FLOWERY BRANCH -- The Falcons signed veteran wide receiver Carlton Mitchell, who was in minicamp for a tryout, and waived wide receiver Shane Wynn, who was signed as an undrafted rookie, on Thursday.

Mitchell, 6-3, 215 pounds, was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round (177th overall) of the 2010 NFL draft out of South Florida. Mitchell played in 16 games for the Browns and made three catches for 31 yards.

Wynn, 5-7, 167, played at Indiana. He finished his career tied for second in receptions (189), third in kick return yardage (1,854), tied for third in receiving touchdowns (20) and fourth in all-purpose yardage (4,429).
