Each morning, from now until the draft starts on May 8, we’ll do a short profile of a player who’s on the Falcons' Draft Board. We’ll focus on team-needs, possible selections, players the Falcons have worked out and/or interviewed, etc. The Falcons own 10 picks in this draft. Today we’ll look at Alabama safety Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, who has already met with the Falcons.

Projected Round: He's the top-rated safety in the draft and projected to be selected in the first round by NFLDraftScout.com.

Career Highlights: Played in 13 games as a freshman before starting 10 of 14 games in the National Championship 2012 season. He had 37 tackles and five interceptions. Last season, he started 11 games, including nine at free safety. He has great range as he glides around with great field-speed. He also has exceptional ball skills.

Quotes: "I'm one of the best safeties in the draft because I played in (Nick) Saban's system. I feel like I'm prepared for the next level. I'm a fast learner. I play fast. I study a lot of film. I study the opponent a lot. And that's about it. I fly around."

Falcons level on interest: If the Falcons trade back and out of the No. 6 slot, keep an eye on Clinton-Dix. Also, they could trade back into the first round if they stand pat in order to draft him if he slips into the 20s. The Falcons have a hole at free safety after cutting Thomas DeCoud. They recently signed veteran Dwight Lowery.
