In addition to travelers who have scheduled appointments to sign up at the temporary center, walk-ins are also welcome, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

The temporary enrollment center opened Tuesday at the Courtyard Atlanta Airport South hotel for those who want to sign up for the Transportation Security Administration’s PreCheck “trusted traveler” program.

It's open through Wed. Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

From Thurs. Aug. 18 through Sat. Aug. 20, it will open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

PreCheck membership costs $85 to enroll for five years and allows travelers to go through expedited security screening with shorter lines.

The pop-up enrollment centers this summer are aimed at alleviating long waits at regular PreCheck enrollment centers.

The permanent TSA PreCheck enrollment centers across the country in Atlanta include locations at Hartsfield-Jackson International, on Clark Howell Highway and on Century Boulevard NE in Atlanta and in Cartersville.
