Shake Shack, Krispy Kreme and Bantam + Biddy are coming to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, as part of a new round of concessions contracts.

The Shake Shack will open on Concourse A, filling in a long-empty spot.

A Wendy's will also be coming to Hartsfield-Jackson, stepping into a space on Concourse B.

Following final contract approvals, design and construction, the locations could open in mid-2017 at the world's busiest airport.

A new food court on Concourse C to be operated by Global Concessions will have a Krispy Kreme, Bantam + Biddy, Saladworks, Great Wraps and Leeann Chin.

Bantam + Biddy is  a local chicken-based eatery by chef Shaun Doty with locations at Ansley Mall, Avalon in Alpharetta and Lenox Mall. Leeann Chin is a Minnesota-based Asian quick-serve restaurant chain.

The Shake Shack will be operated by Atlanta-based Concessions International and H&H Hospitality.

"We think it will be one of those concepts that people will cross concourses to try," said H&H Hospitality co-owner Randy Hazelton. He said the menu will be similar to street locations of Shake Shack, though the airport location will also offer breakfast.

The Wendy's opening on Concourse B will be operated by Hojeij Branded Foods and Verge Group.

"You've got a lot of trendy things to come in, and they're here today and gone tomorrow," said Hojeij Branded Foods CEO Regynald Washington. "But Wendy's is a concept which clearly has proven the test of time." While there are no other Wendy's locations at Hartsfield-Jackson, Hojeij operates Wendy's at other airports including at Orlando, Washington Dulles and Salt Lake City.

The concessions contracts have gone through delays in the contracting process over the last two years. The deals were approved by the Atlanta City Council transportation committee Wednesday, and now go to the full council for a vote Monday.
